This city has no shortage of new markets, from transitioning tech-driven ones to family-owned expansions to quickly-shuttered attempts, and now another is about to be thrown into the mix. This time around, event planner Stanlee Gatti and his friend Bill Grzywacz have chosen the Tendernob (927 Post St.) as the latest recipient of a small (1,000 square feet), unnamed space in which to house "accessible and affordable" yet "the best" product like milk, eggs, pantry goods, wine and beer and some seasonable prepared foods, as there will be a full kitchen.
Most notably, Gatti is calling upon his "close chef friends" to suggest items to stock. Shelves will be graced with items recommended by the likes of Michael Tusk (Quince), Alice Waters (Chez Panisse), Cecilia Chiang (Mandarin), Charles Phan (The Slanted Door) and Shelley Lindgren (A16). The market is expected to open early summer, after Gatti returns from jetting off to Paris, Barcelona and San Sebastian for inspiration.
