Leo’s Oyster Bar opened in February and has quickly become one of the hottest spots in town. The funky decor coupled with feel-good cocktails and luxe food has been drawing big crowds, and owners Anna Weinberg and James Nicholas of Big Night Restaurant Group (Park Tavern, The Cavalier, Marlowe) have now finished the back space to help with overflow — much like the semi-secret space in the back of The Cavalier. Called The Hideaway, the back area is just through the corridor behind the dining room and has its own rotating cocktail list in addition to the main one. A champagne cocktail will always be on the menu back there, and there’s currently a punch, banana daquiri and vesper available for one, four or six people. The regular food menu is on offer, too.

Designer Ken Fulk is responsible for the look of the space, which has metallic leather banquettes, terracotta tiled floors, tropical wallpaper and a cane-and-mahogany bar. The Hideaway opens Monday, March 14, to be open Monday through Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
