Let’s all thank Saint Patrick for this one: after closing in 2014, O’Reilly’s Irish Pub in North Beach will imminently reopen. It won’t be the same place — signage went up revealing the name of the bar to be Chief Sullivan’s — but the feel will be similar. Owner Rick Howard chose the name after San Francisco Fire Department Chief Engineer Dennis T. Sullivan, who held that title during the Great Earthquake and Fire of 1906.
The bar unfortunately won’t be open in time for March 17, but soon thereafter. Stay tuned for more details.
