Classic Cars West with Vegan Cuisine by Hella Vegan Eats is open (as of tonight), serving the popular food truck's fare in a permanent location for the first time. It's combined with a beer garden that is also part of a classic car showroom.
The showroom, owned by Michael Sarcona, has often hosted art exhibits for Oakland's Art Murmur which occurs on the first Friday of every month. Now, in order to keep visitors coming to the arts district more regularly, Sarcona has partnered with Tiff and Sylvee Esquival of Hella Vegan Eats to create a permanent eating and drinking place.
The menu will serve Hella Vegan Eats' signature, meatless comfort food, like oyster mushroom poutine, fried cauliflower tacos and mac and cheese. To start, the beer list will feature local options like Linden Street, Ghost town, Ale industries, and Crooked City Cider.
Opening hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 5 p.m.-10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
