All-Day Caffe Spuntino Now Open In North Beach

It took over the old La Boulange on Columbus

Albertino M./Yelp

The Italian caffe is alive and well in North Beach (Caffe Puccini, Caffe Greco, Caffe Trieste, Caffe Roma, Caffe Sport, just to name a few), and there’s another to add to the mix. Please welcome Caffe Spuntino to the double-F club, an all-day addition to the neighborhood that is now officially open. Taking over the old La Boulange space, Caffe Spuntino is a collaboration between owners Maurizio Iantorno, Salvatore Cortara (Michelangelo) and Salvatore Di Stefano (Il Casaro).

While the 33-seat space doesn't have a full kitchen, it will borrow ovens and equipment from Michelangelo to prep certain things. In addition to espresso and pastries, the breakfast menu has bagels, eggs and pizza. Lunch is soups, salads and panini and dinner has lasagna, cannelloni, antipasto and more. Hours are a bit sporadic for the next few days, but come Monday, March 28, they’ll be 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
