The Marin-born Belcampo Meat Co. is expanding to the East Bay. The butcher shop and meat-heavy restaurant will land in the Jack London neighborhood in a massive, 5,000-square-foot warehouse. The space won’t house a full-service butcher shop; rather, there will be refrigerated cases with select meat, but the majority of the building will be dedicated to restaurant space. In addition to a full bar, the restaurant will focus on steaks, burgers and meaty salads.
This is the seventh location for Belcampo, which firmly plants it in chain territory. It's a moment of growth for Belcampo, which, despite recently announcing the shutdown of its Mission butcher shop due to low demand, is also opening a stand at The Yard. There’s no anticipated opening date yet for the Oakland location, so stay tuned.
