Mason Pacific Briefly Closes Following Small Fire

The restaurant will be up and running again in two weeks

Patricia Chang

Despite all the rain drowning the area lately, another restaurant has suffered a fire. This time it's Mason Pacific, which experienced a small kitchen fire Monday morning. Luckily, no one was at the restaurant at the time of the fire, but both the kitchen and basement have smoke and fire damage. The dining room and bar are free of damage.

Owners Shannon and Jay Thomson have closed the restaurant for the next two weeks to make the necessary repairs.

"We are grateful that no one was in the restaurant at the time of the fire, and all are safe," they told Eater in a statement. "We send our sincerest thanks to our regular guests for their support during this tough time, and we look forward to being back up and running very soon."

No word yet on what caused the fire. Stay tuned for updates.
