THE MISSION — WesBurger n' More is not, in fact, going vegan, but the forthcoming Mission Street burger joint has finally set an official opening date. Wednesday, April 6th the doors fly open for burgers, tots and fried chicken burritos. (Although the hip cats on the street tell us if you drop by around dinner time this weekend, you'll find the new brick and mortar spot is fully operational.) [EaterWire]
THE PRESIDIO — Opening day for Off the Grid's Presidio Picnic is this Sunday, April 3rd and is getting a couple of familiar, meaty faces: The Whole Beast and Cochon Volant will be out on the Main Post Lawn each with their custom smokers turning out beef brisket, baby back ribs and pulled pork sandwiches and their own housemade barbecue sauces. [EaterWire]
DUBOCE TRIANGLE — Newly crowned Rising Star Ryan Pollnow has even more reason to celebrate: this week is Aatxe's first anniversary and the restaurant is hosting a standing reception followed by a selection of Pollnow's pinxtos and tapas, plus cocktails by the Bon Vivants. Tickets to the fête can be purchased here for a reasonable $32.64, including those aforementioned tapas and cocktails. A portion of the proceeds benefit the SF-Marin Food Bank. [EaterWire]
ON THE TV — Local chef Stephane Meloni of Castagna will be making an appearance on human shopvac Guy Fieri's Food Network show Guy's Grocery Games on Sunday, April 10th. Be sure to set your TiVos! [EaterWire]
