Tsk/tsk Has Become Horsefeather, a Wood-Paneled Drinking Destination on Divis

From Future Bars (Bourbon & Branch, Pagan Idol) alums

It’s been a year-long road to Horsefeather, which initially announced its impending arrival last March when owners Justin Lew and Ian Scalzo (Future Bars) took over the old Ziryab space to create an approachable, cocktail-driven neighborhood bar. Except first they took a detour with Tsk/tsk, a pop-up bar that showcased their sense of humor with playful slushies and liquidation sales. But now it’s Horsefeather’s turn, the duo’s permanent concept with food from chef Ryan Chinchilla (Foreign Cinema) that plays nice with drinks. Drinks like the "mad dog" (Bank Note blended scotch, port wine, hibiscus, orange oil and amaro montenegro) that will come in gorgeous barware befitting of the redesign.

The design, a collaboration between Lew, Scalzo and James Lagoc of Local Produce Design (Nopa, Independent, Bi-Rite Creamery), takes inspiration from the American arts & crafts period (let us Google that for you) with oak wood paneling, banquet seating and a dog-friendly enclosed (in winter) atrium-style patio.

Horsefeather will open this month Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
