OAKLAND — Pal’s Takeaway is turning seven this year, and to celebrate, the cult favorite sandwich shop is bringing in four guest chefs to do it up. First up is J. Kenji Lopez-Alt (Serious Eats) on Monday, April 11 at 6 p.m. with a Korean fried chicken sandwich, followed by Jerry Jaksich and Rayneil De Guzman (Ramen Shop) on Wednesday, April 13 for lunch with a spicy deep-fried oyster roll, Matt Gandin (Comal) on Wednesday, April April 20 for lunch with a meatball torta and James Syhabout (Commis) on Wednesday, May 4 for lunch with a deep-fried catfish sandwich.
OUTER RICHMOND — Marla Bakery is bringing back dinner service Wednesday through Sunday nights starting Friday, April 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays will be more casual fare, Fridays and Saturdays more "sophisticated" and Sundays will remain to be Sunday Suppers.
