Until now, Anchor Distilling Company’s gin, vodka and whiskey have only been available for purchase by the bottle or in cocktails around town, but the Potrero Hill company is ready to make its production facility a destination. Dubbed the Tasting Room, Anchor is opening the doors to its factory every Thursday and Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. It starts with a tour of the edible rooftop garden, moving to the production process and ending with a tasting of the six spirits (Junípero Gin, Genevieve Gin, Old Tom Gin, HOPHEAD Vodka, Old Potrero 18th Century Whiskey, and Old Potrero Straight Rye Whiskey).

Anchor Distilling Company was started in 1993 by Anchor Brewing after founder Fritz Maytag realized there were no pot-distilled whiskeys being made legally in the country. Since then, Anchor has expanded to gin and vodka. The $35 tours kick off Thursday, April 21.
