Let's be honest, there's a lot not to like at McDonald's, but everyone likes the French fries. So there's nothing not to like about the news that four locations in the South Bay are testing out garlic fries. Gilroy garlic fries, to be exact, because this is the Bay Area, and we value local ingredients. Fun fact: did you know Gilroy is the world’s garlic capital?
Made to order, the fries are tossed with a "puree mix" of chopped Gilroy garlic, olive oil, Parmesan cheese, parsley and salt. Apparently customer feedback has been positive, and if that continues, the exclusive fries will be rolled out to 250 Bay Area locations in August. The fries are available now in San Jose (2191 Monterey Rd., 1398 W. San Carlos St., 4838 San Felipe Rd.) and Santa Clara (3509 Homestead Rd.).
