It’s been two years of will-they-won’t-they back and forth for Citizen Fox, and the final sad verdict is: they won’t. Owner Deborah Blum has finally called it quits on the vegan concept that has been popping up in the old Hapa Ramen space and previewed itself at The Hall in the form of sandwich shop Kit Fox. Blum is putting the blame on construction, citing a "painstakingly long and challenging development process to build out the restaurant."

Construction wasn't the only drama with the concept: chef Kevin Schuder also came and went, citing "mutual differences in management." It’s been tough going these past few years for Blum, who abruptly split with Hapa Ramen chef Richie Nakano last year and killed that concept, too. Citizen Fox’s swan call will be brunch this Sunday, May 8, and Kit Fox will close this Friday, May 6. No word yet on what will become of the space.
