Itani Ramen is up and running, featuring steaming bowls of ramen, gyoza and ice-cold shots of shochu.
The new ramen spot from chef Kyle Itani (Hopscotch) is located in Uptown Oakland, featuring 49 seats (plus 18 at the bar). Abueg Morris Architects (Comal, The Advocate) designed the space, which integrated some of the 1930s elements that were part of the original tenant, Woolworth's, decor. Plaster columns, a terrazzo floor and old wallpaper were mixed in with birch wood walls. The bar is concrete, with Fireclay tile, and industrial metal chairs in grey and orange.
Itani Ramen is now open daily for dinner, Monday through Sunday from 6:00 p.m. - Midnight; lunch will be available in the coming months. Check out the full menu here.
