Guess fried dough rakes in the dough, as Johnny Doughnuts is on a tear. It just doubled the size of its San Rafael brick-and-mortar in January, as well as keeping its fleet of trucks roaming the streets for the doughnut hungry. Now the doughnut operation is traversing the Golden Gate to land in Hayes Valley, opening its first San Francisco location at 388 Fulton, a new micro-condo high rise at Fulton and Gough Streets.
The 1,900-square-foot space is already under construction, though it won’t be ready until the end of the year. Expect the same menu of both yeast and cake doughnuts, as well as vegan and gluten-free versions.
