Bigger and Brighter Tacolicious Marina Now Open

The space is roomier, but the rest remains the same

Tacolicious’ first brick-and-mortar on Chestnut Street may have always been popular, but owner Joe Hargrave knew the small and dark space wasn’t ideal. So when his lease was up, he found a new space just across the street. Open as of today, the new Tacolicious at 2250 Chestnut St. is just the same, foodwise, but has some pretty significant aesthetic improvements. The old location shuttered last week.

The high-level improvements to the new space include about 20 more seats, a second floor private dining room with windows that overlook Chestnut, and — very notably — two bathrooms (lines at the old one were always unpleasant). Hargrave and wife Sara Deseran designed the space, which has a big horseshoe bar in the middle, blue cement tiles lining the walls, and colorful posters with quotes from people like Hillary Clinton and Muhammad Ali. And that’s about all that’s different — it’s the same menu and the same staff, but as Deseran told Eater, "It’s the new and improved Tacolicious."
