Following founding chef Dennis Lee’s departure from barbecue and beer hall Smokestack back in February, it was time to bring in a new kitchen lead. As of this month, that person is Brandon Korf, who has quietly been serving up a new menu and new service model at the Dogpatch restaurant.
Before you would order at several different stations, but now there’s just one spot to order your food, and then grab a drink at the bar while you wait for it to come out. That food is similar to what it used to be, but Korf, who has experience at Le Trappe, Sauced BBQ & Spirts, and Hi Lo BBQ, has added more sandwiches and salads to the menu, in addition to the traditional meats and sides. There’s also now a happy hour weekdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with select $5 beers, a $7 Old Fashioned, and select $7 wine. Happy hour food is to come. You can see the menu in full below.
