It's the word on Polk Street

Reverb (formerly Verbena), which shuttered in April, is undergoing a transformation. According to a liquor license transfer from April, Andale Management Group is now the owner of the shuttered restaurant, and sources say it will become a mezcaleria by September.

The restaurant group is behind Andalé Mexican Family Kitchen, a family-owned restaurant that originally opened in Los Gatos in 1987. It now has outposts at SF’s Westfield Centre, as well as SFO and Oakland International Airport. All locations serve standard fare like burritos, tacos, and quesadillas; no word yet on what the menu will look like at 2323 Polk Street, though there will be an extensive list of mezcals.

This will be the fourth concept to hit the space since 20-year-old Rex Cafe closed in 2012. Since then Spanish restaurant Marbella, Verbena, and its reboot, Reverb, have all passed through (though Verbena and Reverb were from the same owners). Stay tuned for more details.
