Belga Owner to Take Over Betelnut Space Next Door

The remodeled space will open in October

Master empire builder Adriano Paganini is plowing full speed ahead on his (unstated) mission to take over the San Francisco dining scene. The guy already owns Super Duper, Uno Dos Tacos, Lolinda, El Techo, Beretta, Belga, Starbelly, and Delarosa, and he has an upcoming Hayes Valley restaurant on the docket. Now, adding to his very full schedule is a plan to take over the old Betelnut space (2030 Union St.), which is conveniently right next door to Belga, and closed in September after 20 years in the neighborhood.

Paganini’s team is staying quiet on what to expect, but did let drop that it will open as soon as October. Based on the space — which is large and has a full liquor license — it seems unlikely to be a Belga expansion, so look out for an all-new concept to potentially head Cow Hollow’s way this fall.
