Bay Area OG chef Jonathan Waxman has returned to his roots with the March opening of Waxman’s, his Ghirardelli Square American restaurant meant to revitalize the tourist dead zone. The space has been operating at half capacity, though, with the cafe portion on hold until the full-service portion got up and running smoothly. Now, it’s time for the cafe to join the party, and will open for lunch as of tomorrow, Wednesday, July 6.
Food includes typical cafe lunch fare: sandwiches, salads, and pizza, plus the excellent bonus of a full liquor license from the restaurant portion — see the full food and drink offerings below. The counter service spot has seating indoors and out, and is open Wednesday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
