Napa’s Atlas Social Shutters

The year-and-a-half-old restaurant was “premature”

It hasn’t been a great week for Napa, with the announcement on Friday that Ninebark was closing (temporarily), and now news that Atlas Social has shuttered. Owner Michael Gyetvan tells Eater SF that, “Bottom line, not enough people were coming to keep it going.” Gyetvan hasn’t been able to pinpoint why, but he theorizes that it may have been ahead of its time, before downtown Napa could finish several pending hotel projects.

Atlas Social opened in January 2015 with globally-influenced small plates. Gyetvan also owns Norman Rose and Azzurro Pizzeria e Enoteca, which he says are “cruising along.” The space is now up for lease.
