When The Cavalier opened in 2013, few people knew it had a private members-only back bar, open only to the likes of Sean Parker, Tyler Florence, and Ron Conway. Now, as of Tuesday, August 23, though, Marianne’s will open to the public. Owners Anna Weinberg and James Nicholas (Leo’s Oyster Bar, Park Tavern, Marlowe) decided to make the switch after growing “bored” of the exclusive aspect.

With help from Big Night creative director Jake Mogelson and designer extraordinaire Ken Fulk, the duo gave the bar a more boho vibe, with purple walls and leather- and zebra-print couches to lounge upon — all in the hopes of evoking Weinberg’s favorite style icon (and Mick Jagger’s ex-girlfriend) Marianne Faithfull.

In that theme of eclecticism, Big Night executive chef and partner Jennifer Puccio created a small plates menu of snacks like lamb schnitzel lollipops, Brussels sprouts chips, and potted Dungeness crab, which you can see in full below. Drinks have names like “Honey Bang Me Sloe” (vodka, sloe gin, Galliano, elderflower liqueur, orange juice, lemon) and “Sticky Fingers” (rye, scotch, Angioletto, sweet vermouth, Grand Marnier, lemon bitters), which lends to the free-spirited vibe.

Marianne’s opens to the public Tuesday, August 23, and will be open Tuesday through Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 12 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
