Treasure Island Flea to Move Locations and Expand Food Lineup

It all starts September 24

Treasure Island Flea Ansanelli Productions

After six years on the West side, Treasure Island Flea is expanding into a new and larger home on the East side of the historic man-made island. Starting the weekend of September 24, the monthly event will have a grand re-opening at the waterfront (California Avenue and Avenue N), with Oakland views instead of San Francisco views, and three times as many food trucks as when the event was launched.

Spurred by recent redevelopment of the island (this year will also be Treasure Island Music Festival’s last on the island), TI Flea is bringing its full retinue of 400 stalls of curated designers, artists, makers, collectors, and antique sellers to the other side. There will also be more games at the food park, like a giant Connect Four and beer pong, miniature golf, giant Jenga, and cornhole.

Treasure Island Flea co-founder Charlie Ansanelli calls the new venue “bohemian industrial,” with all new tables and other items built out of vintage doors, wine barrels, tires, and upcycled materials.

The market occurs on the last weekend of every month from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with an average of 15,000 visitors shopping and eating at the more than three dozen food trucks, tents, and local food startup purveyors, three full outdoor bars, live entertainment, DIY workshops, and kids’ games. (Adult admission is $3, kids 12 and under are free, as is parking.)
