Emeryville’s Public Market, which is now a destination for dining thanks to its growing number of illustrious vendors, will add C Casa’s tacos to the mix by the end of the year. It’s the second location for the restaurant, which began in the Oxbow Market, the food hall located in downtown Napa, seven years ago.
The latin menu is focused on tacos, but also has rotisserie chicken and duck, enchiladas, quesadillas, soups, and salads. It will also add breakfast to the lineup at the Market, with egg tacos, scrambles and more. Bergen, who was not a professional chef before opening C Casa, says that her priority was dialing in the menu before even considering expanding. After Emeryville, she says several more locations are in the work.
“I like the public market philosophy where people can hang out and everyone can pick what they like,” said founder Catherine Bergen. “And, they’ve really upgraded the food options, so I’m in good company.”
That company now includes The Periodic Table, Paradita, Fish Face Poke Bar, Nyumbai (until the end of the year), and Shiba Ramen, with more on the way. C Casa is hoping to open by the end of the year for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
