Last night was extra busy for popular Hayes Valley restaurant Petit Crenn, following a small fire. San Francisco Fire Department was on the scene of the one-alarm blaze, which began around 6:45 p.m., and resulted in the evacuation of diners at both Petit Crenn and neighboring German restaurant Suppenkuche.

No one was injured or displaced by the fire, according to SFFD’s twitter updates. An employee of the restaurant told Hoodline that the cause of the fire was unknown, as it did not begin in the restaurant.
A later update from chef/owner Dominique Crenn indicated that the fire began in a vent (or possibly a hood) in the restaurant. Crenn also indicated that there was minor damage, and that the restaurant would reopen on Saturday. Stay tuned for more details.
