As if this world just couldn’t get any harder to bear, here comes news that Doughnut Dolly’s West Berkeley location will shutter due to a rent dispute. Sunday will be the last day for the location, according to Berkeleyside, who reports that owner Hannah Hoffman must close after failed lease negotiations with the building’s landlord, Donahue Schriber.

The West Berkeley location opened in 2014, following the success of Hoffman’s Temescal Alley location, selling doughnuts stuffed with fillings like fruit jam and Hoffman’s signature “naughty cream.”

Hoffman also told Berkeleyside that she’s hoping to launch a series of doughnut pop-ups at coffee shops around town, though details are still in the works. Employees of the Gilman Street location will be able to work at either the Temescal Alley or SF location.

Stop by the shop on Sunday for a farewell celebration filled with doughnuts and good vibes; per usual, the shop will open Saturday and Sunday, 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.
