Smitten Ice Cream is opening its newest outpost in the Mission next week (March 23), with some exciting new flavors in tow. The new spot (904 Valencia) will be larger than the others, having combined two storefronts to create a mega-Smitten with space for guests to linger and consume their just-churned treats.

To celebrate her triumphant return to the Mission where founder Robyn Sue Fisher started her liquid nitrogen-based ice cream company by selling out of a wagon eight years ago, the new store will offer four new flavor collaborations from Mission favorites Samovar Tea lounge, Mission Cheese, and Dandelion Chocolate, plus a TBD flavor from La Cocina. The fourth will be a concocted through a partnership with one of La Cocina’s entrepreneurs, who will be selected via a competition.
There will be all the usual seasonally rotated suspects, and classics like TCHO chocolate. Here are the three featured flavors for opening, each of which will rotate for three weeks:
- Samovar Tea Lounge’s Turmeric Gold Latte made with spices and ginger
- Mission Cheese’s Chevre & Apricots
- Dandelion Chocolate’s Mission Hot Chocolate
Additionally, opening day sales will be “pay as you like,” with all donations going to support La Cocina’s efforts to empower low-income female entrepreneurs in the Ba Area. So if you needed a reason to eat ice cream before, this would be it.
Check back for more details on the space, and flavor lineup.
