There’s a new bar headed to the former home of DaDa Bar (now safely ensconced at its new, larger location on Post St.). Called Tequila Mockingbird (get it?), the bar is from chef/restaurateur Dennis Leary and his team of drinking professionals.
According to Leary, Tequila Mockingbird will be a straight-up bar, with no food and plenty of strong drinks made by bartenders poached from his empire, which includes bars House of Shields, Natoma Cabana, and Rx, and casual restuarants The Sentinel, Golden West, and Cafe Terminus.
There will be a menu of cocktails, but it’s not intended to be a hardcore craft cocktail bar (no handlebar mustaches, says Leary). And, as the name implies, there will be a special focus on tequilas and mezcals.
The coveted space is right in the middle of the business drinking action and only one block from the ominously looming Salesforce Tower. After it debuts next week (Thursday, March 30), Tequila Mockingbird will be open Monday through Saturday from 2 p.m.- 2 a.m., making it perfect for all those work happy hours that turn into late night affairs.
Stay tuned for more details on the menu and space.
