Though chef Ron Siegel’s resume includes years of fine dining experience at restaurants like Michelin-starred Michael Mina, his most recent venture was a year as the chef at Rancho Nicasio. Now the chef is striking out on his own, with a San Anselmo spot called Madcap.
The liquor license is currently being transferred from the owners of Lincoln Park Wine Bar (198 Sir Francis Drake Blvd.), which still appears to be open and operating as usual. No word yet on whether Siegel will be doing a completely new concept the space, or taking over the existing wine bar with a new name.
The location is in one of Marin’s cute, quaint, and upscale neighborhoods, surrounded by a cluster of restaurants including Uchiwa Ramen, and M.H. Bread and Butter. Details are scarce on the nature of Madcap; stay tuned for more details.
