After much waiting, The Kebabery will finally open today (4/27), with a short but sweet menu of grilled items. From Camino co-owners Russell Moore and Allison Hopelain, the restaurant is a petite homage to the success of “kebab night” in the duo’s popular Monday night supper series. They kicked things off last night with an impromptu practice run, opening the doors to the public all at once to help train staff and work out the kinks before an official debut. Lines were predictably long, as the mostly residential neighborhood flocked to try its newest offering.

Chef Traci Matsumoto-Esteban (who came over from Camino) is crafting a menu focused on skewers of lamb, chicken, king trumpet mushroom, and pakora fried vegetable kabobs which will change with the seasons (expect kabocha squash, cauliflower, and the like), with sides like sauerkraut, beet, or carrot salads. It’s all available as a sandwich, or a platter with choice of kebab, two salads, yogurt with chilis, and a big pile of herbs. Head over here to check out the interiors.
