Marin’s appreciation for the finer things in life is getting a boost from Fisher’s Cheese + Wine, a new cafe/wine bar and retail shop in the Marin Country Mart. Local students of cheese will know owner Kiri Fisher from her existing venture, The Cheese School of San Francisco, where she leads tastings and classes. On the side, she’s been been catering and popping up at the Country Mart’s farmer’s market, and now her new business is open in a permanent space at 2201 Larkspur Landing Circle.

For Fisher’s vibrant interior (that wallpaper!) thank Wylie Price, the designer of spaces like State Bird Provisions and Ramen Shop. For the food and wine, Fisher recruited some of her Cheese School “faculty,” such as Noreen Guizar, who is general manager and buyer at Fisher’s.

Monica Kusaka Herrero is the chef at Fisher’s, although she worked with Kiri Fisher and Cheese School chef Jocelyn VanLandingham to create the menu, which includes cheese boards, salads, and heartier dishes like mac and cheese and grilled cheese. Those creations, unsurprisingly, are made with some very serious cheese blends: The grilled cheese is on country bread with Point Reyes Farmstead toma, Nicasio Valley san geronimo, and Hook's 5-year cheddar. The mac, meanwhile, is made with Mahon reserva, Red Barn 5-year cheddar, and french raclette with bread crumbs.

Scope the whole menu and the wine list below. Fisher’s Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
