Sliver Pizzeria, a vegetarian slice shop modeled on its owners’ former employer, Cheese Board, closed on Center Street at the end of December, leaving fans in the lurch — but not for long. The pizza parlor has reopened at 2468 Telegraph Avenue, where it can continue to serve its Cal student clientele.

Admiral Maltings’ taproom rakes ’em in

A reminder that new craft malthouse Admiral Maltings, the first local malted barley operation in California since prohibition, is now supplying local breweries, and opening a taproom of its own this month. That’s in its malthouse facility on Alameda Island, and to be called the Rake. It’s set to pour 20 beers made by local breweries with its craft malt starting on January 26th.

Pun-tastic Scroll Bar opening in Redwood City

Silicon Valley dwellers and workers will have a new reason to look up from their keyboards on February 1: Scroll Bar — get it? — and Waterside Kitchen, a bar and restaurant that have softly opened inside the Pullman San Francisco Bay. A grand opening is set for February 1. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the bar has cocktails like the Digital Detox, made with pale ale, whiskey, tea syrup, and lemon juice.

Halal Guys Berkeley is opening for real on January 26th

The Berkeley Halal guys location is already delivering its combo platters and gyros trough Caviar, and next comes the storefront itself, which will field customers starting on January 26th. Head over to 2126 Center Street right away to secure your place in the inevitable line.
