Healdsburg bar Duke’s Spirited Cocktails is adding a new food menu to go with their garden ingredient driven drinks (and requisite local wine program), collaborating with chef Shane McAnelly of nearby restaurants Chalkboard and Brass Rabbit. McAnelly’s new bar bites will be available in February at the bar and a next door dining extension of Duke’s Spirited Cocktails they’re calling Duke’s Common. Wedged between Brass Rabbit and Duke’s it’s literally common ground between the two businesses at 109A Plaza Street (formerly Scopa).

McAnelly’s menu at Duke’s Common will feature “global street food” including skewers (chicken satay), snacks (fried mushrooms, falafel), and pizza by the slice. Everything will be available in the bar at Duke’s Spirited Cocktails, opened by a group of Spoonbar alums in 2016. One of Healdsburg’s few late night haunts, previously, it’s just served popcorn and a few cold snacks like pickled veggies.

“The menu is meant to be an affordable option on the square to grab a quick bite either on the go or in the space itself,” says Rose Stark of the Duke’s Common team. “We are all very excited about the project and think that we will fill a much needed niche.. that Healdsburg is lacking.”

When it opens next month — date TBD — Duke’s Common will serve food from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily, and offer it at Duke’s Spirited Cocktails from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weeknights and 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. on weekends.
