Following the earth-shaking news that Shake Shack would finally arrive in the Bay Area with Palo Alto, San Francisco, and Marin County locations, the burger chain has revealed the details on its forthcoming Marin outpost: A lease has been finalized for the Marin Country Mart in Larkspur at 1401 Larkspur Landing Circle. It should open in fall 2018, a company representative tells Eater SF.A
What’s left to add to a food hub that already boasts Wise Sons, Belcampo Meats, Fisher’s Cheese & Wine, and Marin Brewing Co.? Shake Shack, apparently. Here are some renderings of the burger chain’s forthcoming space there — minus the burgers, shakes, and crinkle-cut fries.
Shake Shack was founded by New York restaurateur Danny Meyer with an original location in Madison Square Park. It’s since exploded with more than 160 locations worldwide, going public in 2015, but the brand has been slow to enter the Bay Area scene.
Now that’s happening fast, with Shake Shack’s Palo Alto location at the Stanford Shopping Center (180 El Camino Real) getting ready to open in the fall as well. The San Francisco Shake Shack will open a bit later, headed somewhere in the Marina. It’s yet to be finalized, but a likely location is 3060 Fillmore Street in the former Real Food Company space.
