Grand Lake Kitchen, an Oakland deli, grocery, and restaurant with a beloved brunch, will be doing it again in the Dimond District. The original Grand Lake Kitchen opened in the Adams Point neighborhood in 2012, expanding its space there to add its dining room. Now, the new spot, at the former Full Moon Seafood House at 2042 MacArthur, will be even more spacious, and owners hope it will open next fall.

Original Pattern Brewing breaks ground in Jack London

A duo of married couples is opening a new brewery and tasting room in Oakland’s Jack London Square at 292 4th Street. Original Pattern Brewing’s owners say they want to focus on their tasting room as an educational space, and won’t be distributing their beer, at least initially. No set opening date.

Meet the new Mosto

Tacolicious’ Valencia street sister bar Mosto (741 Valencia) is sporting a new look, bartender, and menu after a revamp. The new cocktails — though with the same old emphasis on mescal and tequila — are from Candice Jae (Alchemist, Dosa, Lolinda). On a damp day like this, try a cup of hot ponche, mulled Mexican fruit punch with tequila. Tacolicious culinary director Quinten Frye has put together new food menu for Mosto, too, with items like a Dungeness crab tostada, chicharron quesadillas, and hamachi ceviche.

Later this month, some San Franciscans could get a peek at actor Tom Hardy, as he’s reportedly in town filming for a new Marvel movie, a Spider-Man spinoff called Venom. According to a filming notice, he’ll be at Edinburgh Castle Pub on Geary in Lower Nob Hill, shooting on the 24th
