If Drake’s order at scenic San Francisco restaurant Waterbar is any indication, “Champagne Papi” actually prefers pinot grigio. The artist, who was in the Bay Area for performances at Oracle Arena with rap trio Migos, was spotted enjoying dinner and waterfront views last night.
Drake also advertised a Saturday-night Halloween party at City Hall in SF, but that event was reportedly less successful. Billed as “an epic night with Drake with special live performances, DJs, and surprises,” it ultimately featured small portions of his star power. Drake arrived late in the evening — coming straight from his Oakland performance — and didn’t greet fans or take the mic.
On Twitter, angry ticket holders demanded refunds. “He could of sang one song. He could of said hi. He could have waved. But no he sat his butt down and had a drink,” one attendee complained. “Misadvertise[d] event.”
At Waterbar, Drake gave roughly that some performance, though to a considerably smaller crowd. He and a seven-person crew enjoyed an imperial shellfish platter, salads, a jumbo prawn platter, steaks, and pasta. To drink, they sipped pinot grigio and Don Julio 1942.
