The one, the only Thomas Keller is expanding his Yountville restaurant empire, which includes The French Laundry, Ad Hoc, Bouchon, and Bouchon Bakery. Next on that list will be La Calenda, which is going in, as anticipated, at the former location of Hurley’s (it closed at 6518 Washington Street this spring).

The new member of the Thomas Keller Restaurant Group family will “showcase authentic Oaxaca cuisine in a relaxed and lively environment,” as job listings for servers, hosts, and chefs reveal.

Early indication of Keller’s designs for a Mexican restaurant appeared when Keller put out the call for a chef de cuisine who “specializes in Mexican” for a new, at that time unnamed, business. Now La Calenda has a name and address — and presumably a chef de cuisine, though no word on who.

Yes, Keller’s restaurant group has been tight-lipped about the project. La Calenda will feature “live music and tasty libations,” but what else — and when? Eater SF has reached out to for further details and will add updates accordingly.
