Stay Gold stays gold with Temescal location

Stay Gold Deli, a business that contains multitudes and describes itself as “an Italian-American Deli counter, Central Texas BBQ spot, grocer, restaurant, coffee shop, market, arcade, and beer garden,” has added a new location to its popular 2635 San Pablo Avenue digs, opening at 4935 Shattuck Avenue. “Yes we do have fantastic beer and wine,” the business writes on a sign outside the new store, anticipating the question, “and yes you and your friends can drink on our outside patio.” Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Food truck park proposed for West Berkeley

Developers NX Ventures have proposed an ambitious plan for a new food truck park, to be called Route 123, at 2609 to 2613 San Pablo Avenue. They’ve begun their neighborhood outreach efforts, and plans are now being submitted to the City of Berkeley. If all goes according to plan, Route 123 could be ready to roll in early fall.

Emeryville Public Market adds Korean, Southern BBQ

Korean-inspired NabiQ and southern-style Pig-in-a-Pickle are joining the lineup at Public Market Emeryville. That means barbecue two ways: Korean style at NabiQ, and at Pig and Pickle, with a bit of fine dining finesse from Damon Stainbrook, who was previously a sous chef at the French Laundry and already operates a popular brick-and-mortar restaurant in Corte Madera. They’ll join more newcomers to the market, including Minnie Bell’s Soul Movement, another recent arrival with rosemary fried chicken and gumbo.
