Stockhome will open in Petaluma on August 1
Stockhome, the adorably named Swedish restaurant from SF’s Plaj, is about to open its doors in equally cute Petaluma. It’s a counter-service type place serving a menu of popular Stockholm street food items (like kebabs, bratwursts, and herring), plus a boatload of Swedish bulk candy.
The famous chicken-and-rice chain opens today in Uptown Oakland, in the former location of Locol (and Plum before it) at 2214 Broadway, bringing spicy AF red sauce to all the land. The grand opening events include some giveaways: Starting at 11 a.m. the first 50 customers get a free platter of gyro, falafel, chicken, and the sauces. The main draw, however, is the chain’s late night hours: it’s open til midnight Sunday through Thursday, and til 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
MF Chicken will soon be available in Palo Alto
Starting August 6, denizens of Silicon Valley can sink their teeth into some rotisserie chicken from the Tacolicious crew. The pickup- and delivery-only roast chicken model started out of Tacolicious’s North Beach location last year; now it’s doing the same in the restaurant’s Palo Alto location, offering the standard dinner kit of ancho-chili chicken, tortillas, rice, beans, and accompaniments. Order through Caviar or DoorDash.

Eater National has a deep dive on the bad tippers who walk among us, refusing to pay for the service provided them. Whether service is good or bad, sometimes these people “just don’t feel like it.” Read (or hate-read) the full thing here.
New cocktails emerge at Besharam
The new Dogpatch restaurant is now serving high-proof Indian-spiced cocktails, an upgrade from its former wine and low ABV beverage options.
