Surprise: It’s dinnertime — and also dessert time — at Theorita, Che Fico’s downstairs sibling restaurant. The Divisadero diner just ushered in breakfast and lunch service a week ago, and it wasn’t clear when partners pastry chef Angela Pinkerton and chef David Nayfeld would start evening service at their already bustling business. The answer to that question appears to be tonight, with a limited menu to start.

Dinner hours are now are 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. (closed Monday and Tuesday), and the opening menu is below. Options, to start, include a Marin Sun Farms burger (on a house made potato bun), a big cob salad, and veggie chili with maple cornbread.

Coming up, the team says to expect some Blue Plate dinner specials: Think Marin Sun Farms Meatloaf night, Rossotti Ranch Veal Salisbury steak, pot roast, and a pancakes for dinner night.

Those options ring of the restaurant’s diner nostalgia and inspiration: “It’s a classic,” Pinkerton said of the diner experience. ”At least in my lifetime, [a diner] is the place you went to with your parents or grandparents... it’s a comfortable place, and it holds a lot of memories from when you’re a kid.”
