La Marcha’s brunch is now a weekly affair. After “ironing out the kinks,” the Berkeley Spanish tapas spot (est. 2015) is serving its chicken and churros, bravas poutine, and more from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Think of it the Bayview Growers Market as office hours or an open studio but for local community gardens: Starting August 4th (and lasting every Saturday through November 17), the Bayview Growers Market invites the community to tour eight gardens including the Florence Fang Asian Community Garden, the Abundance Community Garden, and the Willie Mays Boys & Girls Club Edible Garden, where guests can check out produce like strawberries, bok choy, and Chinese chives. Weekly hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Expanding Asian Box
Fast-casual pan-Asian chain Asian Box is on an expansion tear, and the latest location to open is in Campbell’s Pruneyard. The business started in Palo Alto, and now operates in SF (with a cocktail bar), Mountain View, Burlingame, North San Jose, and SoCal.
Verve Wine’s Grand Tour
Bright new Pac Heights bottle shop Verve Wines from documentary Somm star Dustin Wilson and Eric Railsback is kicking off its “Grand Tour” wine club. Each month they highlight a new wine region, and first up is Jura, France. There’s a party at the shop next Thursday to celebrate, and it’s free for Grand Tour members and $10 for non-members. Bon voyage!
