Soufflé pancakes, lamb burgers, lobster grilled cheese sandwiches, and more are now being served at Laguna, a new brunch-focused restaurant that quietly opened last week in Hayes Valley.
Laguna takes over the former Meatball Bar space at 602 Hayes Street. It’s the first restaurant for Brian Stafford and chef David Kleinberg, who previously held stints at the likes of Michael Mina, Chez Maman, and Doppio Zero.
The brunch menu offers a slew of American classics, plus those aforementioned soufflé pancakes served with fresh fruit; build-your-own eggs Benedicts; smoked salmon-avocado toast; and a daily pie. Burgers and sandwiches are on offer all day, while dinner also sees salads, crispy buffalo wings, and mussels with lobster sauce. See a full sample menu below.
