On the cusp of its 10th birthday, perennial Mission favorite Flour + Water appears to be expanding for the first time. A sign is up at the former Farina Pizzeria space at 700 Valencia Street for Flour + Water Pizzeria, advertising a spring arrival. An Instagram page for the restaurant is also live.
Flour + Water first opened touting both its handmade pastas and wood-fired, Neapolitan pizzas, but over the years, the pastas have dominated conversation — and the menu. The current menu features eight pastas compared to four pizzas, not to mention the restaurants’ popular pasta tasting menu. It makes sense for Ne Timeas Restaurant Group, which also operates Central Kitchen, Salumeria, and Trick Dog, to develop a Flour + Water offshoot where the pizza can take center stage.
