Popular Parkside Dumpling Destination Bids Farewell

Dumpling Kitchen is suddenly closed as its owners enter retirement

Shanghai noodle and dumpling staple Dumpling Kitchen has closed at 1935 Taraval Street. Neighbors, who describe the departure as sudden, will have to look elsewhere for soup dumpling and their crispy-bottomed cousins, sheng jian bao.

“Thank you for your support,” owners wrote in a message to customers. “After 8 years in business, Dumpling Kitchen will be closing permanently.”

The good news for them: They’re retiring.

“It has been a pleasure to serve you. Happy Chinese New Year,” they write. Eater SF has reached out for further comment.

Last year, Dumpling Kitchen apparently sought to downsize, remaining in the neighborhood but relocating to a former nail salon at 1123 Taraval. That move never came to pass.
