Waters will be there to sign books, posters, and more. One question: Will there be egg spoons?
Dungeness crab season ends early this year in major coup
In a settlement agreement after two years of litigation between an environmental nonprofit and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Dungeness crab fishing will end on April 15, three months ahead of schedule. The reason: To protect whales and sea turtles from danger of entanglement in fishing gear. Crab fishermen and others in California will also have to mark all their gear going forward. The environmental groups are declaring this a victory, while fishermen anticipate multiple millions in lost revenue. The season will be shortened next year and the following year, too: Ending on April 1 in 2020 and 2021.
