Sewage from Jack in the box closes Biscuits and Blues
It’s a Jack in the Box surprise: 25-year-old Union Square restaurant and venue Biscuits and Blues is closed and canceling shows while pipes from an upstairs bathroom at a Jack in the Box location next door are leaking into the restaurant and stinking it up. Biscuits and Blues is feuding with Jack in the Box over the matter: The franchise claims their mutual landlord should pay for the pipe repairs, but that landlord tells the Chronicle that Jack in the Box is responsible.
Polk Street Bar Bullitt bites the Dust
The 2209 Polk Street bar and tavern known as Bullitt has closed for good. Owners shut down the establishment, named in homage to the classic San Francisco car chase film, as new owners prepare to take the space. The Bullitt team encourages fans to seek them out at their other hard-partying bars in SF: Teeth, Soda Popinskis, and Tonic, which has moved to Lower Nob Hill. Teeth still serves the same wings and drinking snacks popular at Bullitt, owners note.
Super Duper number eight
Homegrown burger chain Super Duper opens its 8th San Francisco location today at 117 New Montgomery Street, serving the same menu of burgers, shakes, and garlic fries as its (now very many) other locations — there are 18 in total throughout the Bay Area. The latest is open Monday to Friday from breakfast (including egg sandwiches and homemade doughnuts) through dinner, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. (closed on Sundays).
Reverly Bistro is closed
297 Page Street French bistro Revelry is closed “until further notice” according to a sign outside the establishment. Eater SF has reached out to the celebrated neighborhood business for details and will add updates accordingly. Update: Revelry Bistro is closed temporarily “while we work out details with a part owner,” according to a representative for the business. Stay tuned.
