Following in the San Francisco location’s footsteps, the Oakland bar offers serious comfort in a variety of bar, booth, or dining table settings — and you can reserve your seats in advance of a big game. There’s also a full bar, a large food menu — including various ballpark dogs — and an up-to-date schedule on its website.

From the same team behind The Miranda and Drexl, Fort Green is a jazzed up sports bar in an art deco building in Old Oakland. Choose from retro cocktails, boozy slushies, beers by the bucket, wine, and Ferraris on tap, alongside snacks or pizza. If you’re actually not so into watching the game, Fort Green also supplies shuffle board, Hoop Fever, and board games.

Named after former UC Berkeley football coach Pappy Waldorf, Pappy’s Grill & Sports Bar is the destination for cheering on Cal sports with rowdy fans. It has two full bars, 16 beers on tap, 15 TVs, and a giant, 205-inch HD projection screen, so everyone will definitely be able to see the game. Pappy’s also serves burgers, sandwiches, and salads all day.

This downtown Oakland sports bar offers ample seating, 10 TVs, a full bar, and basic eats in a dark, nightclubby setting. This is the spot for watching games with a hip-hop soundtrack, conveniently located near BART.

One of the oldest sports bars on this list, Grand Oaks opened in 1988 and retains an old school, locals’ hangout vibe. While you can certainly grab a pint and a burger here, this is also the only sports bar on this list where you can order escargot and a ribeye steak while you watch the game.

This Berkeley pizza shop lines the walls with TVs so you can watch the game from wherever you’re sitting. There’s only beer and wine available, but the beer selection — with about a dozen taps — is very local and very solid.
