Eater's First Ever Cocktail Week Starts Right Now

Starting right now and ending, oh, around 5 p.m. Friday, Eater will be your headquarters for all things cocktail. That's right: Eater's first-ever Cocktail Week is a go, right now. We're going to take you on a behind-the-scenes distillery tour, talk to bartenders about their favorite hangover cures, and feature all manner of maps and guides to dive bars, the city's greatest Old Fashioneds, and more. And if you go to one of Eater's favorite bars this week, you'll get special deals on featured Eater Cocktail Week drinks.

Eight excellent San Francisco bars have added new drinks to their menus for Eater Cocktail Week, and they're offering them at a discount to Eater readers until Friday. Check out a guide to all of the drinks below and remember to mention Eater Cocktail Week when you order.

Elixir's Eater Sour

Elixir has an Eater Sour on $6 special all week long. Bartender H. Joseph Ehrmann calls it an autumnal, "improved" sour made with Quebranta pisco, sweet pear juice, and a warm finish of allspice.

Rock Bar's Stone Eater

Made with 1800 anejo tequila, Cynar, 10-year old Laphroaig and a huge ice cube, the Stone Eater is named after a Native American chef who led the Wea tribe in the 1812 Battle of Fort Harrison. Bartender Brion Rosch wanted to make a drink as tough the chief, just for Eater Cocktail Week. $9

Delarosa's Danzantes

Blackbird came up with this riff on an Amaretto Sour, made with Disarano, Rittenhouse Rye, apple juice and old fashioned bitters, served in a rocks glass on ice. $7

West of Pecos' Cruzita

Bartender Brent Butler makes the Cruzita just for Eater, with Encanto pisco , Aperol, cardamaro and amontillado sherry. He calls it, "the perfect drink for autumn: smooth, slightly bitter, dry and light." $7

Farmsted's Sauv Blanc Crush

Farmsted has added an Eater drink that builds on eight crushed Long Meadow Ranch Sauvignon Blanc grapes, shaken with Hendricks gin, Long Meadow Ranch Sauvignon Blanc, tarragon simple syrup, and fresh lemon juice. $10

Beretta's Lone Wolf

A special recipe by Beretta bar manager Dominic Alling, just for cocktail week. This drink shakes up bourbon, lemon, averna, gomme, and cardamom. $10.
