It's that special time of the year again: time to update the Eater SF Heatmap.
More often than not, tipsters, readers, friends and family of Eater have one question: Where should I eat right now? Restaurant obsessives want to know what's new, what's hot, which favorite chef just launched a sophomore effort, where to sip the cocktail of the moment. And while the Eater 38 is a crucial resource covering old standbys and neighborhood essentials across the city, it is not a chronicle of the 'it' places of the moment. Thus, we offer the Eater Heatmap, which will change continually to highlight where the foodie crowds are flocking at the moment. This month, Tacolicious/Mosto, Southpaw BBQ and Park Tavern are off—mostly because they are growing into themselves, becoming worthy of consideration for The 38. In their places go the Presidio's new Southern belle, Dixie; golden boy Thomas McNaughton's new Central Kitchen, and an ode to the Wild West inspired by the Woodhouse Fish Co. boys' childhood trips to Santa Fe, called West of Pecos.
