Bacon Bacon

With a name like Bacon Bacon, you can certainly expect meat, but the Hot Italian is some next-level meatiness. It combines Molinari salami and mortadella, roasted pork belly, provolone, and bacon bits. The arugula is definitely a failed conciliatory offering. (We should also mention the turkey sandwich with chicken-fried bacon on it.)

Art's Cafe

Art's hash-brown sandwich has long been a hangover helper. In and of itself, it's a beast-- a crisp pile of hash browns, folded crepe-like over melted cheese and topped with runny eggs-- but tucking some sausage or bulgogi (it's a Korean diner) inside is really what takes it to the next level.

Starbelly

A burger is rich enough, but only Starbelly has the gumption to add a big slab of chicken liver pâté on top for this secret menu item. The restaurant calls it "Doc's Way," but we doubt Doc is a cardiologist.

4505 Burgers & BBQ

4505 caused quite a stir when it introduced the "Big Mac," a double cheeseburger with a wedge of Ryan Farr's signature Frankaroni in the middle. What is Frankaroni, you ask? Oh, only mac and cheese with bacon-studded hot dog pieces that's breaded and fried. And then wedged between cheeseburger patties.

Ike’s Place

Extreme meat is something of a specialty at Ike's, but the Doomsday sandwich, at $26, is the crown jewel. It contains all of the following: ham, mozzarella sticks, pastrami, roast beef, turkey, salami, bacon, jack, and habanero salsa. Or try the equally expensive Lex Luthor, with steak, chicken-fried steak, fried chicken, mozzarella sticks, French dressing, and American cheese.

Gilberth's Rotisserie & Grill

This modest Dogpatch spot boasts some of the most adventurous eating you can find in one spot. Though its trio of ostrich, venison and alligator sliders are off the menu, you can still find alligator tacos and elk sliders along with daily specials like alligator & chips (pictured), wild boar roast sandwich and bison meatloaf.

La Palma Mexicatessen

Maker of the best tortillas in town, La Palma also boasts a pretty good taqueria situation, most notably via its breakfast burrito. It has all the standards-- chorizo, eggs, cheese, pinto beans-- but if you really want to bust a hangover wide open, get them to add chicharrones to it.

HRD Coffee Shop

Extreme is basically the name of the game at this tech-corridor favorite. Do you want bulgogi enchiladas with mozzarella covered in Japanese curry sauce? They can do that. Or perhaps a Mongolian beef cheesesteak is your thing? They can do that too.

The Sycamore

Pork belly-stuffed donut holes with Maker's Mark glaze. So wrong, but so right. (Sister bar The Willows has them too.)

La Oaxaqueña Bakery & Restaurant

Grasshopper is back on the menu at La Oaxaqueña, where you can enjoy the fried insects in a jumbo taco or ask to have them sprinkled on your nachos (they've also got ostrich and venison tacos available).
